I've been spending almost half a year in Brazil for 3 years and my language skills are minimal. I moved here permanently and got married two months ago, time to get serious. The two live teachers I've tried just haven't worked out, this looks promising! Looking forward to cracking the language nut!
I've been wanting to learn a new language for the longest time and could never really settle on one. I took two years of French in high school but found it wasn't for me and never pursued it further. I've always thought the Japanese language was very beautiful and since I do follow a lot of current trends of Japan as well as being enthralled in the deep cultural history, this made my choice very easy.
At the time of this writing I have completed the first 5 lessons having listened to each lesson multiple times. I generally follow the lesson by scrolling through the conversation text while it is being spoken. Then I'll listen to the lesson on my drive to and from work. On average I listen to each lesson 4 times. The greatest thing about learning is that I actually feel like I'm learning the language. I'm recalling words and phrases and was even able to order myself sushi comfortably.
I have been extremely impressed with the Rocket Japanese course. I do know I have a long way to go but I promise you, that if you put in the effort and time you will succeed at this.
Rocket Language is an amazing and innovative way to learn languages. It is different from many other methods because of its interactive way of presenting the language, and specially because of its audio recognition feature. Studying by this method is all you need to get Writing, Listening, Speaking and Reading abilities. I'm very satisfied to have bought the product and I'm willing to discover everything the course can present, since it is very complete and broad.
I have tried Rosetta Stone in the past as well as Duolingo and Babbel. I feel that Rocket Languages has been the most beneficial out of all of the ones that I named previously. I really like the amount of content as well as the reinforcement that you get from previous lessons as you go forward. Another great feature is the ability to download the conversations. I have also noticed that as your progress the speed at which they speak increases. This is really nice because it gives you a chance to attune your ears to the language when it is being spoken at a faster speed.
I definitely liked the price point of this program compared to Rosetta Stone. You definitely get more bang for your buck with this program. The amount that I have picked up on in just a couple of weeks has been awesome. Would highly recommend this product!
I am learning a lot and it actually seems possible after all these years I can be/will be conversational with my Spanish speaking only rehab patients. I think that is pretty cool to be able to truly understand and reach my patients so i can give the best care.
I have found it to be very helpful. Good pace. Lot’s of reinforcement of past learning lessons as you go forward. Would purchase again. Oriented to beginner. Well rated. Feel it is the best of available options. Gracias.
I've been looking for learning programs for months now, and Rocket Languages has been the easiest to use and learn from. I was able to speak and understand words and phrases almost immediately. Unlike other programs, this one has actually made it easy to learn to also read and write in the target language. I can't recommend this program strongly enough.
Buon giorno,
With all of my traveling I wanted to start learning another Language, not only to interact with my friends, but to have a sense of accomplishment with something I know would challenge me.
The course has been great so far, easily purchased and ready to go when you are, I love it!! just reading a piece of text or listening to radio makes me smile as i am actually grasping my understanding more and more each day! and that's only on level 1, roll on levels 2 and 3.
The structure is well thought out, the grammar is very well explained as that's the part where im sure everyone is mind boggled at some point, maybe there could be some downloadable interactive audio lessons with the grammar sections as well so that it can be listened to on the go and then read for reference?
The only thing i will add (Technical issue) is that the Rocket record on my lap top doesn't pick up on my pronounciation and i can record just about any sound i like... I end up testing myself separately on the Rocket app, which works fine but not ideal. I hope this can be fixed at some point for use across all devices.
other than that, very very happy and would recommend to anyone.
Grazie mille Rocket italian for helping me on my way.
Appredimento felice
Hannah
So far it's a great learning technique. I like how the audio mentions other ways that a word could be used or other ways to answer questions. I think it will be a test on how well I've learned once I try to start speaking Spanish to someone else since it's still different than learning via computer and audio lessons. I do like the reading and writing reinforcement since it helps when you see what you're learning to say instead of just repeating words.
I enjoy Rocket German, as it has been the most useful medium for learning a new language short of just dropping into Germany to learn. I am an incurable do-it-yourself-er and Rocket German has been nothing short of encouraging to me. I use it every evening, along with Rocket Russian and I even manage to use it on my phone if I have a few dead moments during the workday to review what I did the night before. Whenever opportunity has presented itself, I've "test-driven" what I've learned in practical application and have been pleased with the results. I have a favorite German restaurant and use it there at times, although the only German speaker there is the owner, so it's only infrequently that I can use it there, but German tourists come to my part of the world occasionally and I do what I can to see if I can make a meaningful attempt at a conversation. It is my goal to be reasonably fluent in 5-years so that when I decide to do a 2-year work stint in Europe at that time, I'll be prepared.
