Rocket languages is great. I am now studying Japanese with this course. The content is awesome and it is all relevant and practical material. It isnt random vocabulary that I would never use, for that reason i think it is great. It provides many exercises to drill your learning and commit the language to memory.
I love how the lessons are all grouped in their respective categories together, but if I could offer a recommendation, it would be to have a comprehensive learning path that bridges the categories together. Right now the lessons are in an order that starts with all the Audio Lessons, then into lessons that are reading based, then lessons that are cultural based. These are all grouped together. I feel having them combined in a way that would spread them out so that you dont have to be stuck without audio lessons or cultural explanations for things for a long period of time because you have to go through all the modules in that section. I hope this makes sense. Of course this may just be a preference of mine, but could be a great addition to the course. :)
I've been using Rocket Japanese for a while now, and it is the greatest learning tool I have ever used. The lessons are in small bites so you don't get overwhelmed. Everything is explained in the lessons. Then there are the Culture, Grammar, and other lessons which are extremely useful. I love the in-depth way Rocket teaches, and they still manage to make it fun! The reinforcement activities are wonderful fun, and I do them over and over just because I can. It is so motivating to do a lesson over again, especially the Play It, and can pronounce all the sentences 100% correctly when I couldn't do it a month before. If you want to learn a language, Rocket is the way to do it, and you will learn and have fun at the same time.
I've tried out many apps to learn Japanese, and no matter how many I tried, I always come back to Rocket Languages!
Unlike many other apps, once you get Rocket Japanese your membership is lifelong, no need to update your subscription. That's a really worthwhile investment. Ah, and of course their learning method and organization of studies is great (I can save pdf of ALL lessons to repeat even offline).
Hello. I was born in the United States so my first language is English. Currently I’m extremely fluent in Spanish and Italian. I’ll elaborate on that later. I retired in 2008. In December of 2009 it was decided to purchase Rocket Spanish for myself as a Christmas present. Only Premium, Premium Plus and Platinum were available at that time so all 3 levels were purchased. I had no prior language training during life and no experience talking to others in any language except English. Rocket Spanish was downloaded to an iPod as part of my New Year resolution. I practiced most days while exercising and repeating everything aloud. Everything was finished multiple times that was contained in the Premium or first level in March. The entire level was basically memorized from repeating it so many times. The beginning of April 2010 I went to Panama on vacation for 3 weeks by myself. I didn’t get an interpreter and just went for it and made my way around much of the country by myself taking local bus transportation. The reality was for 4 days I was like “aaaaa”, then suddenly my brain said oh apparently you’re serious and started working without any problem speaking the Spanish I learned in the Premium course.

I've purchased Rocket German Levels 1 and 2 (and previously trialed Rocket French) and it's been great so far. It's much more practical for someone planning to travel to another country, especially when compared to other language learning programs like DuoLingo. The phrases they teach are ones you might actually use when traveling, and they teach the formal conjugations instead of informal (because when would you really use the informal "du" when traveling?). Starting from scratch would likely require you to really dig into the supporting materials (not just the audio courses), but the audio courses alone are worth the price if you have a basic understanding of the language. They are entertaining, move along relatively quickly but reinforce the learning via repetition. The price is very fair when compared to similar programs. Overall, very happy with my purchase!
My family and I are currently in Mexico and are working on learning Spanish. Since this program starts with useful phrases, like how to ask for help or how to order coffee, it has been much more helpful than something like the popular owl-themed language app. (Why do so many programs want to teach me to talk about elephants? Not helpful!) Rocket Spanish also uses the type of Spanish that is actually spoken, unlike the Spanish I learned in high school, and the audio is a native speaker, not a computer-generated voice. My twelve year old daughter and I both like it, and the price is reasonable. A video element would be nice, but focusing on listening and speaking is fine considering the reasonable price and useful Spanish. This seems like a good first step before moving on to teachers online or in-person lessons, and we are already getting to use what we learn in daily life here.
Rocket Language is amazing it really helped me with my french in class! Cannot believe how easy the interface is easy to use! Thank you so much! Amazing. wonderful. the best. do not have enough words to tell you how amazing it is!
I would like to see information on Korean numbers, both native Korean and sino-Korean, and when it is proper to use each one. I've lived in the ROK twice and always used native Korean numbers for everything. I did not realize there was a second set of numbers.
I like the fact that there are native speakers who take time to go through the language for easier understanding and comprehension. The lessons so far are quite generous in the amount of time given and allow you to replay and download if you need to do that.
