I spent ten years studying Mandarin Chinese and learned a fair amount about language learning in the process. I'm studying Japanese now using Rocket Japanese and have found it to be an efficient, effective platform for language self-learning. One small area for improvement would be to cut out the intro music and unnecessary banter in the downloadable audio lessons. They're nice to listen to the first time but get in the way while reviewing lessons. The other area that needs improvement is the Write It! lessons. The keyboard is too small and the main Hiragana keyboard only contains 45 of the 46 Hiragana characters, repeating the tsu character instead. The final Hiragana character, wo, is on the Alt keyboard rather than on the main keyboard in place of the redundant tsu character. It would also be very helpful if a Romaji keyboard was provided as it takes considerable hunting to find the right Hiragana characters for someone unfamiliar with them.
Rocket Languages has presented itself as useful so far. I would recommend the interactive course for someone who's above the beginner level to avoid struggles and discouragements at first. The speakers really push you forward into speaking, though. However, it gets tricky when you have to use an intermediary language to learn the target one. The possibility of downloading everything in the course has provided a deeper immersion in French once you can carry it around whenever you go. Plus, the audio quality is crystal clear providing a better understanding of how the pronunciation works separately and in context.
Since I wanted to learn Arabic, I took a trial version for 6 days and found this course to be satisfactory. Rocket languages gave me productive tools to understand the new language. Now I am hopeful and purchased a full version to take my learning to the next level. Looking forward to achieve some better results with the help of Rocket Languages.
Probably the best language tool I've come across. Actually love it more than Rosetta Stone and Duolingo. I will definitely be paying for the full product.
The 6 day free preview is a blast to field languages to see if they will work for you. I strongly recommend everyone consider the ASL which is not what I typically expect to find in language courses. Full immersion with video only. Great for hearing and hard of hearing who are lip readers.
Tempted to overload with multiple languages (looked at Japanese. After one look I have a far better understanding of written Korean)
Absolutely worth it!
Rocket Languages is a very useful program. I've only had it for a short time and I'm already impressed with the content. It is the most affordable language program out there, and also has some the best content I have seen from a language program.
It's very useful for jump starting your conversational skills, and it goes over a variety of subjects. The content is awesome, but I am the most impressed about the affordability of this program, would recommend to anyone on a budget.
this is my first time using a learning language software but i can say that i'm quiet satisfied with Rocket Language and the huge resources they provide. It's easy and fun to learn with the system provided. Flash cards is a big plus for everyone tried to learn vocabulary in an old fashion way. i'm taking the Spanish course and i can say that it's amazing; i especially love the culture lessons which help me understand not only the language but also the country every day life aspect. I'm considering purchase a Japanese course after this. Glad that i've discovered this wonderful product!
I have studying Mandarin Chinese for about four months. I started with another "highly rated" and very expensive program by a competitor. After two months I could only say hello and goodbye and a lot of phrases which I wasn't sure of their exact meaning and none of them related to any topics I wished to practice at the local Chinese restaurant (you have to look at pictures and decide what is being depicted. No English translations are anywhere in the program). Then I purchased Rocket Chinese and within two weeks, I could actually speak some meaningful Chinese...and know what I was saying...as do the Chinese that I practice with. Rocket Chinese tells you the words, pronounces them correctly for you, slows them down and then adds them to sentences, and speaks them in a dialog with another native Chinese speaker. It also shows you the written characters and the Pinyin language as you go. If you want to learn this difficult language, Rocket Chinese is my recommendation. It doesn't cost you an arm and a leg and you will be speaking basic Chinese almost immediately!!
This is the best one so far. I have been checking for an app or online tutor to help me in learning new languages but none could satisfy me. Only this rocket language learner attracted me. And I am so happy with it. I have been enjoying this online tutor for months now and would keep looking forward to learn more. I love spending my free time with this tuition and courses. Anyone who is interested in learning other languages must take this online course because this is the best one so far. It is for free...you don't need to be worried about spending extra cash like any other course. This will make you "worry not" and enjoy learning absolutely free. You get all the grammatical helps + Audio help + you can even record your own voice. Amazing, isn't it? You can also save your own vocabulary and voice. I am like " Wow this is it" . You can even improve yourself better by competing on your own score point goals. I love adding up more points. I am looking forward to get as much benefits for myself and complement other friends as I have been doing it. Rocket language deserves to get the best learners. The offers and the rewards are awesome!
Rocket French seems to be doing well teaching me introductory french. It is very in depth compared to the free resources for learning french out there. Sometimes the audio lessons have a little too much chit chat for my liking, but on the positive side it follows an amusing story and often explains the new words and phrases well. Not a huge fan of the vocal recognition exercises as they are not always accurate. Overall, happy with my purchase and already feeling much more confident about my french skills!
Rocket Languages has a large collection of lessons to dig into that are effective at teaching the language, and it's easy to use. The one thing I dislike so far is that I was use to using Rosetta Stone, and I loved the visual aspect. It would be awesome if they could incorporate visuals into their lessons as well. But for now the main thing I really like is the added contextual explanations for certain phrases and the fact that they make you have a conversation with the words you learned. My girlfriend is happy i am at least learning her language.
