The letter G

All other sources that I have looked at form the letter G by extending both the index finger and the thumb straight out and parallel to each other. This course forms the letter G by extending only the index finger. Why is this course doing this differently? Where did this form of the sign come from?

I do not know but it might be a virus in the data base
