Some errata

Hello, Below are a few more errata I've come across. Some are small errors, others are more important, like missing sound files, etc. I hope these notes help to make Rocket Arabic even better. Thanks for the great course! I am enjoying it. *Errata in Rocket Arabic* *1.7 Survival Phrases* The sound file for مش بتكلم عربي كتير ("I don’t speak much Arabic") is wrong. The voice recording says “مساء النور" (“Good Afternoon”) In the Grammar Section, the text “However, if the word in question ends with two vowels, then the suffix will be included in full.” should read: “However, if the word in question ends with two consonants, then the suffix will be included in full.” The sound file for "امهم” (Your mother (plural)) is wrong: the audio plays “امهم” (Their mother) The Subsection “Counting into the Teens”: does not display the Arabic numerals (only the transliteration and the English). This is also the case for the earlier example of counting one through ten. Since this is a writing exercise, the missing numbers are important. The sound file for "Tamantashar" (Eighteen "18") doesn't play. *1.8 Being Polite* The quiz for 1.8 is the same as the quiz for 1.3.1 The question: “What is the Arabic word for ahwa?” should read: “What is the Arabic word for coffee?” and the answer should be “ahwa”, not “coffee” *1.9 I Like* In the “Culture” section: The title “Realtionships” should be “Relationships” In the “Writing” section: The letter “ع” should be “Ghayn (3)” in English, not “Ghrayn (3)” In the quiz for 1.9: The quiz is missing (no quiz a all, only a tab with the Submit button) There is a spurious audio widget on the page. *1.11 Food (Bonus Lesson)* In the "Phrases" section: “Fegan ahwa lao sama7t” should read “Fengan ahwa lao sama7t.” Unless you tell me otherwise, I'll send more as I come across them. Salaam, Glenn

1.7 "امهم” means "their mother" not "your mothers" if you want to say your mother in Arabic it's "امهاتكم", read "ommahatkom" I'm a native Arabic speaker, so I know :P and new to Rocket languages, nice to meet ya all :D 1.9 “ع” is ayn not ghayn, ghayn is the one with a dot on top of the letter hope am not intruding o.o

Assalamu-alaikum Amira, I came across some typos in the first lesson of the Rocket Arabic Survival Kit (The letters): 1. The 4th letter theh, is written with a dhal in the left hand Arabic column, but it should be written with a theh. 2. Medicine is dawa, but in the left hand Arabic column, it's written as dasha. 3. The letter dhaal, is written with a theh in the left hand Arabic column. It looks like they switched the letters (see typo #1). 4. The word theyl, (for tail) is written with a Thzhah (looks like a b with a dot on it), even though it's under the section for dhaal. 5. The word dhzubaba (for fly) is written with a theh in the left hand Arabic column, even though it's under the section for dhaal. 6. The word deyl (for tail, shows up again), but this time with a daal. 7. The word debana (for fly) shows up under the section for dhaal, but it's written with a daal. 8. The letter for zeyn (z) is written with a seen in the Arabic left hand column. 9. The letter for Saad (heavy s) is written with a seen instead in the left hand Arabic column. 10. The words sursaar (cockroach) & sulla (prayed) are both spelled with a seen even though they're under the section for Saad (heavy s). 11. The letter Daad is written with a daal in the left hand Arabic column. 12. The word for frog (dufda) seems to have the daal and Daad switched in the left hand Arabic column. 13. The letter Tawh (heavy t) is written with a ta (t) in the left hand Arabic column. 14. The letter Thzhah is written with a za (z) in the left hand Arabic column. 15. The word ghada (for lunch) is written with an ayn in the left hand Arabic column. 16. The word for mango is written with a ghayn in the left hand Arabic column but pronounced as though it's written with a geem. Thanks. -Aasim
