The letters س and ص

Please, there are some rules to write the letters س and ص? I don't know when have to write one and another. Shukran

Hi Maria7m, 

They are two different letters in Arabic with two different sounds. They can often be romanized in English as the letter "s", however **س ** is closer to the letter "s", whereas **ص** is a much heavier "s" sound that fills the mouth when pronounced. For this reason, **ص** is more accurately romanized as "ṣ" with a dot beneath it, to show that they are different letters.
