What are the letters لا at the beginning of a word as in لارج and ه at the end of a word as in اميره

I'm not real clear on that either because I've never formally been taught it, but the first one you are asking about seems to be how you form a Lam followed by an Alif. The second one you are asking about is the normal "h" sound closer to the "h" we have in English.
