Hi! Is this chinese language cantonese or mandarin? Is there a difference?

This course teaches Mandarin, the main/official language of China. Cantonese is spoken in southern China (e.g. Guangdong province), Hong Kong and Macau. It is also the language you often hear in U.S. Chinatowns (and expat communities). Both languages read the same writing but the spoken dialects are almost unintelligible.

你们好! That is perfect Robert. Although Cantonese is officially classed as a dialect of the Chinese language, they are really two different languages because they are completely unintelligible. China has a large amount of languages, many of which aren't mutually intelligible. That's what makes the country so interesting in my opinion. 继续努力吧!Keep up the hard work! - Lin Ping
