I started Rocket Chinese and did a break for about 9 months.
With the New Year's pledge of studying chinese more i started again and I am very surprised how many improvements you implemented over this short timeframe.
I like the tablet version, the new "I Know" Sections, and also the Leaderboard with badges :-)
This gives me a lot of motiviation to study more!
Thanks a lot
Jan

If i could be so bold I think there is one place that could use some improvement. The writing section itself is fine but if there was some sort of flash card process or stroke order repeating that the program could include that would be great. I just feel uncomfortable saying "pretty good" for something I have only practiced on paper, and will probably have to repeat. Other than that I think he is totally right, there have been great improvements

I would like to see a testing tab added to the writing lessons that tests our ability to write the words. I know this is probably way too difficult to implement, i.e. to difficult to evaluate our ability to draw the characters with the mouse. An easier thing to do would be to display the Chinese character and ask us to write pinyin.
Also, I would like to see in the normal testing tab and additional test where we are given the English and we need to write the translation (in pinyin).
The product has definitely improved. The more testing the better, I think.

Is there any lesson that would introduce/teach how pinyin works?
I specifically would like to learn about the accent/symbols...as to how they change the sound.

Lesson 1.5 has a nice introduction to tones. The "accent/symbols" indicate which tone to use. Mandarin has four tones: flat/high, rising, low, and falling. Lesson 1.7 has more on tones. Also, there is a survival kit on tones but it is kind-of messed up right now.
