Hi, As I was going through lesson 1.1 Conversation Transcript, I noticed that the first time Mr. Dave talks he said,"Wo henhao. Xiexie". You translated it, "I am very well. Thank you". But from what I could tell, wouldn't the proper translation be, "I am very good. Thanks"? Gabriela P.C.

Actual, in this context I think it is better to translate it to "I'm good. Thank you." However, it is common for Rocket Chinese to not give exact translations but paraphrases. Note that in this sentence, hen is being uses as a "to be" style verb, not 'very' (see lesson 1.6). So, I think I am also disagreeing with their translation.

Is there another way to say thanks besides "xiexie?"

You can say 非常感谢 (fēicháng gǎnxiè) which means "thank you very much". 非常 ((fēicháng) means extremely or very much and 感谢 (gǎnxiè) means thanks or gratitude.
