I just listened to the interactive audio lesson again and noticed how carefully the instructors break each sentence down into pieces. Rocket Review also quizzes us on these smaller components. The one thing (and I have suggested numerous times) that I would like to see done to improve this lesson and the testing section that follows is to have these individual phrases added to the Extra Vocabulary so that these phrases will be added to the testing section. It is a lot easier to learn the big sentences if we can first learn the individual pieces.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for your post and for your feedback. There are no current plans to split the sentences up into smaller pieces, however, I can let the team know that it has been requested. The thing we would need to work out is whether the partial phrases would work well in all of the tests. Something for us to think about!
All the best!

Rocket Review specifically takes words and phrases and gives us the English and asks us to say the Chinese. This seems well suited for testing. One of the good things about Rocket Chinese testing section (Her It Say It!, Write It!, and Know It!) is that as we rate the phrases higher, they get presented to us less frequently.
Consider this sentence:
Shì Běijīng yǒumíng de shāngyè zhōngxīn.
You can isolate "shāngyè" (commercial) and "zhōngxīn" (center). Then put it together to get "shāngyè zhōngxīn" (commerical center). Then add "yǒumíng de shāngyè zhōngxīn" (famous commercial center).
Most likely, I would master "shāngyè" and "zhōngxīn" first, marking them easy. Soon to follow would be "shāngyè zhōngxīn".
