Hi,
I am really wondering why you removed the function where it is possible to practise writing chinese characters from the entire chinese course. I loved this feature and don't see why you needed to remove this.
Please bring it back!

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't happy with the changes to the testing tools.
In the new 2021 Edition we replaced the Write It! Hanzi test (where you had to type out the characters phonetically) with Sort It! Hanzi (where you put the characters in the correct order). We felt that the Sort It! test was more effective at getting the learner to recognize the characters as well as reinforce Chinese sentence structures. However, I will pass your request on to the Development team for their consideration.
You might also like to know that we are currently working on another tool - Draw It! Hanzi - that will be added to the Writing lessons next year. This test will teach you stroke order via animation and help you remember the characters.

We thought you would like to know that the new animation tool and test, Draw It, has been added to the Level 1 Writing Lessons.
We are in the process of adding them to Level 2 and 3 as well. We would love to hear what you think of this snazzy new tool!

Hi,
Thank you for your response, I appreciate it. I checked out the new Draw It—function and it looks good, definitely has potential.
However I am still begging you to please bring the write-it hanzi function back. I am not arguinh that the new Sort-it and Draw-it functions are bad, in fact I believe that they are great additions in this new update.
Nevertheless they still aren’t really the same as the write-it-hanzi function, which I considered a very importal tool in my learnings of all the characters in every section. I am still hoping that you could bring back this tool in addition to the new ones, I would be forever grateful.

Hi!
I see now that in the new app you have removed the write it: hanzi function there as well in the Rocket Chinese course. I really hope you could bring it back, since it was one of the features I valued most!

We're really sorry to hear that you're still missing the Write It (Hanzi) tool. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we will be adding this tool back into the course as it proved too complicated to identify which character or short morpheme/word is being said.
That being said, if you can share with us what aspect of the tool you found useful that is lacking in the other tests, we can re-assess. I hope to hear from you soon!

So sorry to hear that.
I really liked the function because it allowed me to practice writing in chinese, which there now unfortunately is no option for anymore. For example the new function “Sort it” is just about recognising signs and not about writing them, which I feel is sad since the Chinese sign-language is really exciting to learn. Couldn't the function just be a part of the extra section of tools in every chapter, available to those who like me would like to study and learn to write in Chinese but optional for those who want to skip that part?
