How to get characters.

Nìhao, How do I get Chinese characters on my computer to type with? I would like to know this so that I can do W2. Xièxie ni. Gabriela P.C.

Like W1, click on the keyboard in the lower right corner. Then enter the pinyin (without tone marking). It will then bring up a list of characters. After you have done this once, it will remember so then you just type in characters and select the appropriate hanzi. Also, in many cases there are multiple rows of characters so you should click on the down arrow to see the rest.

I couldn't get this to work in Level 1. When I type pinyin without the tones, it tries to correct in English. If I do get this to work, can I switch back to pinyin?
