The primary meaning of 饭店 (fàn diàn) = hotel. It can also mean restaurant, and probably a fairly nice restaurant. The more common term for restaurant is 饭馆 (fànguǎn) where 馆 = shop. Another word for hotel is 宾馆 (bīnguǎn) where 宾 (bīn) = guest.
