i have few questions while i'm still learning french in French Rocket if any one knows the answer and how to explaine to me please tell me the answer of my questions ok.....
why we say ( du fromage ) and dont say du le fromage ???
while we say (de la confiture )....
both of them ends with a vowel and i know that the first is masculine and the second is femenine .....
is it because we can't use ( du) with the articles (le and la)?????

Salut-
du is the contraction of de + le (masc) so we don't need the extra le after du.
de + la (fem) doesn't contract so it just stays "de la"
