Lesson 2.13 problems

Well, bad day at the console for lesson 2.13 for me. 3 things. 1) for the phrase "le cahier noir" there was definitely an "n" in the pronunciation, sounded like "le tanier ..." happened twice. 2) for the word "long" there were 2-3 syllables in what I heard! 3) I asked for 3 words to be put on my vocab list - mechant, moindre, and vilain - and in checking my point total I noticed there were no entries, nor more importantly were the words recorded. definitely a bug. Anyone else have difficulties like this?

Oops, scratch 3) in the above - I forgot that Jason said that the vocab feature was not implemented during the quiz section. that explains it.

Bonjour Lance, 1) I had a quick listen to the audio for 'le cahier noir' and found nothing to be out of place, are you still having trouble with it? 2) 'Long' has simply been lengthened by the speaker to make the pronunciation clearer but there it is still only one syllable. Let me know soon, - Marie-Claire

I've moved on so dunno if 1) is still there. seems to be some problem with my speakers perhaps. I'll just let these go by. Thanks for checking though.

I agree that it sounds like an n in cahier, though I do get the 'c' - i.e it comes across, distinctly, as 'canier'. When I go to a external dictionary and get a pronunication, it is distinctly 'cahier' (with the h silent), so I believe there is a recording/playback problem in Rocket, and it is not unique to this entry. Several others that I have checked against external sources give results that would be more like one would expect based on the spelling

'La cahier noir' I too have checked this out. Sounds fine (no ‘n’ sound). I think you have to work on attuning your ears to the fact that many words ‘run into each other’ 'Il était une fois' I am doing lesson 4.6 Did you know (part 2) I was puzzled when I came to Il était une fois – once upon a time. I am hearing two separate T sounds. Sounds like ‘Il-ay-tate-tune-fois’ I was expecting to hear a more distinct ‘Il ate-ay- tune-fois’, with one T sound attached to the une. However if you repeat it to yourself quickly three or four times the first T in ‘etait seems to catch up with the second one, giving a similar sound to the recording.......Phew ! I’m exhausted now !!!!!
