In lesson 2.3, where the person missed his plane to Nice, the agent says "Desolee, l'avion est deja parti!" But, the transcript, at least mine, does not have the word Desolee, so it was a bit confusing.
Word missing in transcript

Bonjour Lance,
I just checked the lesson and I heard no 'désoléé' in the audio, nor did I see it in the transcript. Have another look and if you're still having trouble, post me another message.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks Marie-Claire but ... hmm ... at exactly 11:44 minutes into the audio on MY tape for lesson 2.3 Claire does use the word "Desolee", I just checked.
If you don't hear it, then I must have a different version of the lessons which, of course, brings up a different question. Thanks.
... Lance

So, I'm wondering if it's my hearing, my speaker output, or what ...
I'm doing french lession 2.12, and in the first Hear it/Say it section they give
"ta chaisse" - that's what the answer says - but I don't hear an "s" at all, I hear something like "chien", a definite "n" sound. The phrase was repeated at the beginning and at the end of the test, and both times for me no "S" but definitely an "N" sound. Anybody else have this problem?

Vous n'êtes pas seul, avec le 2.3 "mais désolé".
mais,
Vous êtes seul avec la 2.12 "ta chaise". Je l'entends bien.

Lance,
I just listened to the Lesson 2.12. No, I didn't check the Hear It Say It as I don't want to accidently mess-up the previously recorded score. However, I did check the pronounciations in the Lesson and with its list of 7 singular "chaise" and 5 plural "chaises". Generally the "s" sounds much like the English "z" in the singular, but in the plural it is softer. In every situation the letter is pronounced.
If you have a reliable internet access, you might try listening to the lesson on the website.

hmm. actually, I do access the lessons through the web site. are there any parameters one can adjust for the pronunciations?
