accent of native speakers

There are several dialects in spoken German.  I am familiar with Stuetgart and Muenich.

Which dialect are we learning with the native speakers in our course?

Happy Christmas to you both. We are postponing Christmas, as my husband came down with Covid and the family have decided to postpone Christmas until he can take part. So we will have to freeze the roast. :(  I have made all the desserts, so will munch on those. In true Portuguese tradition one dessert is never enough. Having grown up in a British/ Afrikaans family we only got one dessert.

We will have fun regardless until we celebrate Christmas. Actually quite nice, all the mad rush is done, so when we do celebrate will be chilled. Rushed around all week and felt quite done by the evening of the 23rd, so now just sitting back and enjoying myself. 

Hope you have had great fun. I'm sure the 2,5 year old did. A lovely age as they are so aware then.

Well other than opening presents we never did get to do Christmas in its normal way. My daughter got sick and I have had an awful time. I sound like and man and have not been this ill since I was 16. Just not capable of doing language and that is saying something, as I take it quite seriously. Hopefully by next week will begin to feel more human. Heavens only know how much worse this would have been if not had the vaccines.

Sorry to hear you were all so sick over Christmas, I hope you are better now.

We had a rather chaotic Christams with a 2 ½ year old. Amongst other things she found some lipstick and totally covered herself with it and the walls, then there was the face cream. :-)  We also got to see the Grinch cartoon about 10 times.

Still, lots of fun.

You have made me laugh, which is a good thing. Have not got grandchildren, but remember those hectic days with 4 kids in tow. My eldest daughter got lipstick on my Mom's carpet once. Luckily not a whole tube. Yes, and have sat through the Grinch a multiple of times and read the book a gazillion times, to the point where my one daughter could recite it.

Thanks for the good wishes. Am back to normal, thank goodness. Was absolutely hopeless and just stayed in bed. Did no learning or anything constructive. Just not me and it was not fun.

Watched the first episode called Overland. Original trip London to Singapore , now doing the reverse trip. Though of you doing London through Africa. Not a trip I would consider in today's times
