Does anyone have good ideas as to where one can find German beginner dialogues or written pieces one can read, as well as listening to easy slow news.
Input would be appreciated

Here's a couple of suggestions:
https://www.fluentu.com/blog/german/german-news-for-learners/ gives 5 suggestions for easy German. One of which is https://www.nachrichtenleicht.de/
which might be a bit too easy, and short. These are current news items, so if you are familiar with say 70-80% of the words the rest can be understood by context.
There's also https://www.dw.com/de/deutsch-lernen/s-2055 which, like nachrichtenleicht, has text to accompany the podcast. This is a bit harder than the other one, but you might find it useful.
Hope this helps!

Thank you Peter. Studied German years ago through Rosetta Stone. Our local distance Ed school was offering free Rosetta Stone lessons, So did French and German. I also currently use Babbel, as it is great for vocabulary. It is slowly coming back to me and finding it more natural now. Am juggling between Italian and German, so have slowed down on both counts. MY Italian is more advanced than my German at this stage, but I speak Afrikaans and that helps, as some words and grammar structures are similar. German is a lot more complicated though.
Happy learning
