"ci" sound

It seems Roberto pronounces "ci" at the end of middle of words as "shi"--not sure how to put this in Italian. Is this regional?

Hi LynnS102,

Thank you so much for your question!

Would you be able to point me to a specific example/audio/lesson so that I can help you?

Thanks! :)

For example, 20:39 in lesson 20.4.

Hi LynnS102,

Thanks for pointing it out!

I listened to the specific part you referred to and, indeed, the first "ci" sound is pronounced more like "shi" in this case.

This could be due to the speaker's specific regional pronunciation (it frequently happens in Tuscany, for instance).

Hope this helps :)
