Let me introduce myself too:
Ciao, mi chiamo Caterina e sono italiana, vengo dalla Toscana.
As you can see, in order to tell others where I am from I used the phrase "sono italiana" (I am Italian). If I were from India, I would say "sono indiana" (or "sono indiano", for a man). This is the most common way to state where you are from.
I also added "Vengo dalla Toscana" (I come from Tuscany/I am from Tuscany) in order to provide some more specific information about myself.
Finally, if you wish to provide more information about your Italian learning, you could also add how long you have been studying Italian, for instance: Studio l'italiano da 3 mesi. (I've been studying Italian for 3 months).

I thought lentamente meant slowly....

Ciao Anna. To my understanding, both mean slowly, with “piano” being more informal. I’m sure others have a more informed view. Ciao. Chris

As Chris correctly stated, both "lentamente" and "piano" mean "slowly". However, "piano" is more informal. Moreover, "piano" (as an adverb) could also mean "delicately" or "quietly" depending on the context, while "lentamente" will always mean "slowly".
