I WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT FRANCE

bonjour a tous, I got all excited when I thought I might go to France in July 2013. I haven't been studying French like I should(lazy) but I wanted to go Air France, I thought it would be fun to hear French on the airline. I was planning on going first class to Paris, then stay in Venice with my cousin. I almost died when I saw the airfare for first class was $8,000 one way. So I'm either going coach, $1600 round trip, or not going at all.

Gary - that is expensive! i hope you can make your trip! I am lucky to live in England so can travel there cheaply on the train (sorry!). I am planning a trip to Giverny (the home of Monet) next month! Has anyone been there? or does anyone know any good places to stay in the area, or have any tips on the best way to get there from Paris? Repondre en Francais se possible!! Je veux a pratiquer mon française!

Bach, Beethoven et Rachmaninoff. J'adore l'arte impressionist, ( I know that isn't written correctly). this french is difficult, but I must stick with it.

Salut, I agree it is difficult! I have tried and failed many times to stick with it, but from each failure i've learnt something new about the way i personally learn a language, and i have found emersion from all angles works best for me. So now each day i try and do some of the following: listen to the radio in French when i cook, read (with a dictionary) a page of a french book, and do at least half an hour of online study. At the moment if i do one of these things i am doing well. Sticking with it is definitely the hardest part. Ok a little in french.. Je m'appelle Lucy et je viens d'Angleterre, j'habite dans une petite ville s'appelle Cambridge. Je suis une artist, et j'adore a prendre des voyages a autre pays, en particular Maroc et France. Dans une semaine je suis visite France avec une amie pour quatre jour, sur la Eurostar de Londres a Paris. Je veux a visite la Jardin d'Monet, en Giverny, pour vois l'art et pour parler en Francais. I also listen to lots of french music (Francoise Hardy/ Serge Gainsbourg) - it is a fun way to learn. Bon Voyage!

salut Lucy, ah, une artist, formidable! Moi aussi, j'adore a prendre des voyages a autre pays. I travelled to Marocco , to Rabat and Casablanca( where I got robbed). Vous parlez tres bien francais. much better than I do. I will have to take your approach and do at least a half an hour a day of french study. I love the French Impressionists painters . I visited the Jeu de Paume musee in Paris where all the impressionists were shown. recently in Raleigh north carolina, I saw a wonderful exhibit of Matisse and Picasso works on loan from the Baltimore Museum. Je n'aime pas l'ouvre de Matisse. bon voyage on your trip to France.

Oh i'm sorry you were robbed! I have not been to those towns. Morocco can be a tricky place to travel. Dans ma voyage je visite Marakesh et Fes, et j'habite avec une famille Berbere dans la Moyen Atlas. Maroc est tres tres beau! Next week when i am Paris i hope to visit the new Islamic Art wing at the Musee de Louvre, j'adore l'art Islamic, il est tres magnifique. You don't like the work of Matisse? Quelle dommage!! J'aime les couleurs de Matisse. La joie du vivre! Good luck with your studies!

bonjour tout le monde! I too am planning a trip to Paris for next spring but after Gary's comments I will be looking for more inexpensive ways to travel. Je veins des Etats-Unis aussi and have been studying French diligently now. I am happy that you are also using French-glish as we all struggle to read, write and speak.
