TRIP TO FRANCE!!!!

Salut! I am 15 years old, my name is Jared Hattingh. I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, but moved to Austin, Texas 5 years ago. I have met a friend here from France... He goes back to France in Le Lavandou in the Mediterranean every summer for 1 month and a half. Ever since i heard him speak with his mom on the phone on our way back from from tennis.. i have loved the sound of french! I make him read his french books aloud to me and what can i say, I am hooked! :) I just recently ordered this course after finally saving up enough money for it. I was wondering what is the best way to learn French the fastest with these materials. I am implying that i will be going with him in france in July sometime. I would really like to know a bit of french to keep up with the locals. I can devote about an hour every day and maybe 2 hours each weekend day. So any suggestions or comments please ? :) Adieu! =]

Hey there, I'm sure you will have a lovely time in France. If you have one hour to spare each day that's fantastic. I recommend to start with the Interactive Audio Course. Listen to the first lesson once in the morning and again at night. You will see that the second time around you will feel much more comfortable and remember many of the expressions. Go over the lesson again the next day to make sure you remeber it all. Once you have listened to 3 or 4 lessons you can start reading the Grammar Guide to learn about how French works. You can also devote some time on the weekends to use the MegaGames. Leave the MegaVerbs game until later on, as you will need to go through the Grammar Guide first to get the most out of it. The MegaAudio and MegaVocab games will be a fun way to test yourself on what you have learned so far. Whenever you have a spare minute away form the computer you can use the MegaCards to practice and improve your vocabulary. I'm sure that you will have a great time in France talking to the locals. All the best for your French learning.
