In «Play it»  'Passerby' répond à ANNE (Pouvez-vous m'indiquer ?) avec «Oui, MONSIEUR . . .».

Salut MCK !

(I've merged the three threads on the monsieur address together as they all relate to the same issue.)

Thank you very much for getting in touch with us about this inconsistency! I've passed this on to the French team and they are going to get these lines re-recorded so that the speaker matches the form of address being used.

À la prochaine,

Liss

Once again, thanks Liss. I think I am seeing more use of the literal translation check option, or maybe I am imagining it, but either way, I find it very helpful to have available along with the 'practical' translation.

Salut MCK,

I'm glad that the literal translation option is proving helpful! Now that we have that new function in place, we are indeed using it more and more across all of our languages.

Our French team has been able to record new audio for several components that were picked up in Module 6 of Level 1, so the problem of female voices being used for male characters should now be resolved.

À la prochaine,

Liss

In the re-recording of Play It, the dialogue and script  have not been changed. The guest is now clearly female, and still referred to as 'monsieur' by the receptionist. I recall that the guest was indeed male in the previous recording.

Again in this lesson, the customer complaining is female, being addressed as 'monsieur' by the waiter. I realise these are role plays, but it is distracting to hear a female being addresed as monsieur, or a male as madame - having picked up several of these recently, I am hoping they are all due to oversight in the renewal of the lessons?
