Test counters have stopped working

The counts of the number of test items completed and rated stopped working in Fr Level 1, lesson 1.14.  Sometimes the first of the easy/good/hard ratings  register  in the totals(completed) box;  sometimes none.  I've signed off and resumed several times without results.  I've tried using the easy/good/hard buttons to rate the item as  well as the 1,3,5 hot keys.  Neither works better than the other.
