"Write It" exercise is glitchy

"Write it" exercise is glitchy. Sometimes I write the translation, and reveal indicates the previous answer rather than the current translation. Has anyone seen this? Is this course full of bugs?

I just experienced a freezing page in "Write it" (module 10). After typing what I heard the REVEAL button did not show up. So end of story...

Is this course "full of bugs"? No not exactly "full of", but there are new problems every day and some of them don't seem to get much priority. 

Hi all - Sorry, we had a small bug during a recent update. All should be working fine now!

It would be nice if you would tell purchasers if there is a bug.

As of today, there still is a problem, but I think they are working on it.  I noticed two different ones.  I was doing the final test for module 23, and in the "write it" section (where the speaker says a word or phrase and the student is to type it), often the answer given (by clicking "reveal") was the very same answer given to the word or phrase prior to the one given.  For example, suppose the speaker says "Que veux-tu dire ?"  And I would type that answer and get it right.  The next phrase the speaker might say is "gaspiller" and after I type that and hit reveal, the answer given would be "Que veux tu dire ?"

But  I cannot do the "quiz" section of the exam at all.  After just a few questions, it gets stuck and will not advance, meaning I cannot finish the exam.  I have tried multiple, multiple times, all with the same result.

I did report it and I am know they are aware of it.

Any update on the problem with the quiz part of the exam of Modue 23?  It still freezes when I try to take it, meaning I cannot complete the exam.

Hi Bob - We are hoping to get this sorted this week. We have all the pieces in place but need to make a couple of mods to get it online. In the meantime you may have noticed that we have added audio (Rocket Record) to lessons 23.4, 23.5 and 23.6.

Essentially the issue stemmed from there not being enough quizzes in the Module, so we are adding those in this week as well as the Testing now that audio is in those lessons.

It sounds like this program was not ready for release. At the price of it, I think that it shouldn't have multiple, continuing defects.
 

Hi Brenda - The reason we had to push through a lot of the recent updates was due to the old system being reliant on Adobe Flash. It is reasonably well-known that there are/were major security issues around using Flash. The new system no longer uses it.

Also, the old code base was started over 10 years ago and wasn't suited for the sheer amount of devices and operating systems that have come into vogue in the last few years.

We are now at a stage where we have future-proofed it as much as we can. Unfortunately the odd thing has slipped through the cracks, and when that happens at least we can sort it out without breaking something else (which often happened with the legacy code).

I have mentioned this elsewhere on the forum but it's worth repeating! Thanks for your patience.

Hi Bob - We have added Testing and a Quiz into each of those Module 23 Language & Culture lessons. So, the Module test should also be fine now.
