Bonjour, j'ai une question. Est-ce que vous pouvez m'aider? Merci beaucoup. Right, you're not a kid any more? Ah bon, t'es plus un enfant ? Je ne comprends pas. Why isn't it: "Ah bon, tu n'es plus un enfant?"

Hi - Yes, you are right. In proper French grammar structure, it *should* be "Ah bon, *tu n'es* plus un enfant?" But in casual, everyday spoken French, the "ne" is almost always omitted from my experience, so it's useful to know this informal, grammatically incorrect formation also, because you will hear it in casual conversation a lot (even my tutors switch to this mode when we're talking about what we did over the weekend before we go on to the "official" lesson). Another example: "C'est pas moi !" instead of "Ce n'est pas moi !"
