Its like the title says, how can you get it memorized? do you just keep saying it until you can say it right off the bat?

In regards to memorization in my French learning, simply repeating a word over and over doesn't work that well for memorizing it. I've been studying French in earnest now for about four months, using a variety of methods. I have found the best way to memorize and increase my vocabulary is to practice using the new words a lot. Using them in sentences both in writing and speaking, sort of embracing the new vocab for lack of a better saying. I also tend to pay very close to the spelling of a word, some times breaking it down in smaller pieces, like main-ten-ant or va-can-ces. For words that seem to be problematic for me, I will usually write them down on paper. I'm not sure why but that always seems to help me remember the word.
The key though I've found is to use the vocab. For the words that I end up practicing frequently in whatever lessons I'm doing are much more solid in my memory. Words that I haven't used in awhile do tend to slip.
Overall I would recommend getting as much exposure to French as you can. Watch movies in French, French in Action, Téléfrançais are things that are readily available and will help in many ways including increased exposure to your growing vocabulary.
