This is quite a big question and if I were you I would try not worry too much about when and where to use them because the more French you see and read the better you will understand where to use them. However, here is a simple explanation: "de" = "of" or "from" - used to say where or what something is from or of That's Sarah's book (That's the book *of* Sarah) - C'est le livre *de* Sarah. I am *from* France - Je suis *de* la France. "en" = "in" - used to say that something or someone is in something or somewhere She is *in* town - Elle est *en* ville. "à" = "in" or "at" He is *in* Paris - Il est *à* Paris I am *at* the bank - Je suis *à* la banque J'espère que cela vous aide - I hope this helps! - Marie-Claire
