What's the difference between Je suis perdue and Je suis perdu (3.2)

Hi there, I am working through the platform, on lesson 3.2 and I noticed that there are two sentences that are similar. I am trying to understand when one would use “Je suis perdu” vs “Je suis perdue”.

The form of perdu(e)  in this case depends upon the gender of the subject.
