How does one make their own flashcards?

If you are an iOS user (and maybe for Android users as well), there is an app called Tinycard that would allow you to make flashcard (and the app has pronunciation feature in case you aren't sure how the word is pronounced!- which happens often in French) and use flashcard stocks of other users.
