of 'Tres'

Hi. Just wondering if this word has free variants in terms of pronounciation. Cos in lesson 1:1, Claire pronounced it 'cre' (bien) and in lesson 4:1 'tres' (bien) to the MAN who wanted the ,'un paquet de bonbons.' This is more noticeable in the timeline 18:25. Even the man too-i mean the lively Paul- called it, ce est 'tre' (not cre) bon when advising how to say the meal was good. Is it okay to call it any of these ways? 2,Would you recommend stuff like 'Yahoo Translations' software as alearning companion. I have tried inserting in it, some of your words (and from other standard French Literature) but its translations are not always accurate/thesame. Sometimes it brings in entirely strange phrases-but sometimes it is spot-on. What's your take here? Thanks.

Salut, thanks for your post. Très should eb pronounced like "tra" (American English) with a slightly softer ending. It might sound similar to "cre" as the "r" is rolled in some way, but the "t" sound should be audible. I hope that makes sense. I personally don't really like those online translators, simply because they return wrong result most of the time. Even simple words are often translated wrong. I haven't come across one that does sentences in a good way yet either. I think technology is not ready yet. If I ever come across one that is any good I will let you know. Merci
