Salut tout le mond!
Just wondering if anyone knows of any websites that might have simple French stories, maybe children's stories etc I really want to practise reading and translating. Being a beginner it would need to be quite simple.
Any other suggestions for reading and translation practise?
Merci,
Stephanie

I would type in google "Children's stories in French". You tube does have some videos that are children's stories with subtitles in French. Type in French stories with subtitles. Most of the french stories I have found online are somewhat more advanced and requires goggle translate to understand what is said.

Hi Stephanie,
I have found this website useful, they have childrens stories with translation and audio:
http://www.thefrenchexperiment.com/stories/
The other thing i do is pick up short french childrens books at the second hand book shops, and read them slowly with a dictionary, noting any new words or grammar i don't understand along the way. Then i spend a little time learning any new vocab, try and figure out the grammar with my grammar book or language exchange partner, and then see if i can read the book on my own.
Hope that helps, have fun!

Scholastic Canada has some short printable french books on their website. They are for beginner readers so very simple (not that I understand them yet but I'm looking forward to translating!
