Does the course intend me to do all "culture and travel" exercises before going to the next modules audio lesson?

I really dont like the culture and travel exercises since I need to memorize the examples by tedious methods. Does the german course intends me to do all the exercises in X1 module before advancing to X2 module? I understand the grammar of the "culture and travel" lessons but the exercises make me mad

I have to agree that the audios do make it easier to remember.

You can definitely advance in the course without the need to do the tests, or the tests you don't want to... If you would like to get the Certificate that you have passed the level, then you do have to take the Final Test without necessarily taking the tests from the Modules. The course is flexible that way, so each member can mold it to their needs.
