Hey Anyone.
I saw a movie last night called "Ladies in Lavender". It's got Judi Dench in it, so may not be everyones 'cup of tea' but what it DOES have, is a fair amount of spoken German! Always useful!
Have fun learning (and showing off your German knowledge) guys!

What about 'Run Lola Run'? This is a great movie, a bit more of an alternative movie with a couple twists, but good practice for your German!

I am a fan of German movies, but it is hard to sometimes get a hold of them. But "Run, Lola, Run" was good and "The Edukators". And for those who are interested in History and perhaps World War II "Downfall" would be a good one. There is also "Das Experiment" and "Das Boot".
If anyone knows of any others bitte let me know!

Hi there,
a few weeks ago I watched the movie "The white Massai" which was very fascinating. The movie is mainly in German and Maa, but also a little bit of English. It has English subtitles as well which helps. Definitely worth seeing. Enjoy!

I bought __Das Boot__ and __Downfall__ before I ever thought I would try to learn German. Having recently joined Netflix, I've been on a bit of a German movie kick. They have around 250 German movies! Here's what I've seen so far:
__The Tunnel__
__Aimee and Jaguar__
__Good Bye, Lenin!__
__Sophie Scholl: The Final Days__
__Rosenstrasse__
__Before the Fall__
__Triumph of the Will__
__The Experiment__
__Jacob the Liar__ (The original, not the Robin Williams remake)
__Naked Among Wolves__
__The BRD Trilogy: The Marriage of Maria Braun __
So far, my favorites are The Tunnel, Sophie Scholl, Rosenstrasse, Before The Fall, and The Experiment. I particulary recommend Sophie Scholl and The Experiment.
I also recently saw __The Lives of Others__ (now playing in theaters) and liked it very much!

I recently saw "Torn Curtain," an old Hitchcock film. Obviously it's in English, but there's a fair amount of Germans speaking German to each other -- which isn't subtitled or translated. It was fun to see what I could pick up.

I recently saw Das Leben der Anderen and I'm also a fan of Wim Wenders: Der Himmel Über Berlin, Don't Come Knocking etc.
