I have said it already once, but the lady on Language & Culture Lessons section is a disaster. She should not be used as a speaker to help student learn German! She is too difficult to unsderstand. She swallows half of the words. She is a bad choice! It even sounds that sometimes she does not even have the right pronunciation (i.e. ein vs eine). Use Paul and Nik instead! It surely makes it a lot more enjoyable to have someone like Paul and Nik. I have been told by one of my co-student that the lady will not be used in the other sections! It will not be too early! Some of the material in the Language & Culture Lessons section is sometimes difficult and should be handled by someone who knows how to teach and seems to care!
Language & Culture Lessons Speaker is an absolute disaster

Listen to the pronunciation of that phrase:
Er schenkt ihr einen Strauß Blumen.
The lady as in many other cases failed to pronounce clearly and properly some of the words (.i.e. Blumen). Again she is a total disaster and makes the learning experience painful. I Wonder what the organization is waiting to replace that brat! After all, we pay for the course and deserve better than that.

Listen to the pronunciation of that phrase:
Meine Mutter ist jünger als mein Vater.
I don't know if it is poor recording or again the lady total ineptitude to pronounce German properly, but I defy anybody who is beginning learning German to be able to unsderstand what she is saying. Again this has to change! We pay for quality product. The management of that course seems to be totally ignorant of the comments that are made. They never respond!

Once more:
Listen to that phrase:
Wer ist eingeladen?
The lady just jump over the "ist" and just does not pronounce it. Might be the way the Germans (some of them) say it. However, that should not be the way the material is presented to students who are just starting to learn German..

I think you've made your point Pierre. She is difficult to understand. As to brat, that is an inappropriate comment. She is not doing it to annoy us, I'm sure. She may not even be that atypical for her region, I don't know about that, but I agree she is not the best choice for a beginner's course. I also agree, you deserve a response from management. However, don't let it ruin the experience. It's still a pretty good course for the money.

I definitely agree that she's hard to understand... but by golly it makes me listen harder! (which is probably good practice as I'm certain not all who speak German are clear as Paul and Nik!) It doesn't bother me too much as the words are written out clearly for us anyway. I can certainly see how it would be tough for someone who hadn't had previous German at all though, and I can get sufficient quick and quirky listening by going to Deutsche Welle or YouTube so... that's my two cents' worth.
