Hello, I have a question regarding translation of German to English. I would like to know if its more beneficial to translate literally word for word to or to translate filling in the gaps to make a sensible English sentence? I find that it is less confusing when translated litterally but I've noticed most translations add to the sentence to make it smoother and more sensible in English. Thanks for any replies. Kyle

Hello Kyle, Sorry for late reply. Sometimes when you translate a sentence word for word you will not get a sensible English sentence. To keep the conversations in our lessons realistic we didn't translate both languages word for word but according to what you would actually say in that situation. When you are having a real conversation in German you don't have the time to translate each word in your head. But even if you don't know each words meaning you can get the sence out of it. I hope this helps! Paul I hope I could help you
