Thank you for your reply. I think आसन -āsana could also mean seat, sitting; yoga posture.
I think कुरसी-Kursī is an Arabic loanword for chair.

yes, asana can also mean to sit or sit in a yogic posture. There are so many loan words for arabic and persian and its has been in the culture for centuries that there is hardly any recognisation that these are loan words and not the original one.
