'Aum' pronounced as 'Om' is the universal sound as Hindu's and many other ancient cultures knew about. You can see it in many other religions. Like, Amen has the almost same sound. Recently our science found that it resembles closely to the sound of the Sun or our star.
'Namah' comes from the root word 'Naman' which is same in 'Namaste' which means to bow down and Shiva is one of the gods from Hindu Trinity of Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva. Shiva is considered the god of destruction.
