What are the two words for 'marriage' in Hindi?

i know shaadi is one word and i believe vivah is another... hope this helps

Hi Vikki, Thank you for your participation in our forum. You are right. The first word shaadi- शादी(f)- marriage has perso-arabic origin. The second word vivah- विवाह(m)-marriage has sanskrit origin. Have fun learning Hindi John
