Hi John As mentioned in another of the forum questions, the "Ba" that you see in "Vasant" is actually an example of the influence of the local language. there are some languages which do not have the "va" sound and hence that "va" is replaced by "ba" as here. As for the transliteration, it is quite common to add the "h" to words though i agree it is not correct and needs to be changed if one wants to learn the proper speaking. धन्यवाद
