A New Year

Ciao a tutti

A brand new year. I have given up on new year resolutions, just never last!

One thing I am going to try and keep up with is to use different resources for my language learning.

Amazing resources out there and many of them at no charge. I find it is easy to just concentrate on one resource, due to convenience, but I am not doing myself any favours.

So happy New Year to all

and good quality learning too

Hi All

Have been reflecting more on New Year and realized that the first of January is not celebrated by all as a new year. Apologies if I have offended anyone. That said for me it is a new year and I am going to try and stick to my new goals.

Hi Maxie

Personally speaking, I don't feel we should ever apologise for expressing goodwill derived from our own cultural preferences.  I have no problem people expressing the same goodwill from their own cultural perspectives.  It's what make studying languages and other cultures so rewarding, don't you think?!

I agree about multiple resources, and re-subscribed to Memrise over the holidays for that very reason!

Felice Anno Nuovo!

Grazie Chris

Hope you have a fabulous year.  I use Duolingo the free one. Annoying I know! But it does give me new vocabulary and repetitive verbs.

Having lived in all sorts of places, different cultures and religions found that some people are prickly. I'm not at all and cobbled along nicely, but was also so aware that certain things just were not done.

Pointing with your forefinger at something was considered rude., So you pointed at something with your fist closed and pointed with your thumb.  It stuck as I still point that way.

Keep well

Ciao a tutti,

Happy New Year to you all! Although we are responding to Maxie's message in July, it's always a great time to reflect on our language learning journey and explore new resources.

Maxie brings up an important point about the benefits of using different resources for language learning. It's easy to fall into the habit of relying solely on one resource due to convenience or familiarity, but branching out and exploring diverse resources can greatly enhance our learning experience.

There is an abundance of amazing resources available, many of which are free of charge. Online platforms, language learning apps, podcasts, YouTube channels, blogs, and forums offer a wealth of materials and opportunities for practicing and expanding your language skills.

By incorporating different resources into your learning routine, you can gain exposure to varied teaching styles, practice different aspects of the language, and explore new perspectives. This can help you develop a well-rounded understanding of the language and keep your learning experience fresh and engaging.

So, as we embark on this new year (regardless of the month), let's challenge ourselves to embrace the diversity of resources available and make the most of our language learning journey. Let's keep our learning experience dynamic and enjoyable!

Wishing you all a wonderful year filled with quality learning and growth.
