What a lyrical and lovely expression. Italians do have some lovely sayings.

I also love that one! One of the pleasures of learning another language is finding expressions that are different to us and are a great way of seeing the world a bit differently.  I remember studying French as a kid in school and learning that the verb for to be bored is a reflexive verb. So when a person says I am bored, in French they are saying I bore myself. I found that to be a great way to ensure that if I ever felt bored, that I found something to do and unbored myself.

In Italian I love the expression:  A tavola non s'invecchia.  

“A tavola non s'invecchia.” - I personally love that expression too! And it perfectly sums up the Italian way of living :)
