Going to be in Italy for over two weeks next year. Ubderstand many hotels have landry service. How do you ask for it and find how long till it is returned to your room? Also do you know if it is required to have a note from your Doctor showing what medications you have with you? Thank you. Nice to have a contact to ask. David

These are a few questions you can ask:
Offrite un servizio lavanderia? - Do you offer laundry service?
Come funziona il servizio lavanderia? - How does laundry service work? (This if you already know the chosen hotel offers one)
Quanto costa il servizio lavanderia? - How much does laundry service cost?
Quando sarà riconsegnato il bucato? - When will the laundry be returned?
It can be different from hotel to hotel. I once stayed in a hotel/guest house in Berlin for three weeks and had to do my own laundry because no room service was offered for it, but it was a different country. I'd suggest you to look for it in advance on the hotel's website, it is generally stated on one of the pages if it's available or not. Alternatively, you can drop them an email.
There are no regulations regarding the medications you have with you, at least not that I know of. If it's something that might be noticed (medical marijuana, for example), I'd suggest you to have your Doctor write a note just to be safe.
