Ciao Fran,
you can practise writing posts in the forum so other students can reply to you.
If you haven't done it yet, please post a message about you, what do you like doing, if you have been to Italy and what you liked about it.
I'm sure you will have lots of messages !!!
Buon divertimento
Ciao

Welcome Maria,
it's good you keep practising with your husband.
Have you ever been to Italy?
There is section in the forum called "conversation in Italian".
Post a message about yourself and have the chance to chat with other students in Italian!
Buon divertimento!

Ciao Maria,
no, i've never been to Italy but am visiting family in sicily this maggio, so I'm really keen. I have lots of questions I will want to ask them and answers to questions I know they will ask me.... so I quess I will just practice these on my fellow students.
Posso ask, I guess, for a favour of you Maria. the words this = questo, that = quella, these = queste and those quelle. Puoi fare queste in frassi per mi? (can you put these into sentences for me)
I know (io so??) posso è "I can" but can I uso (use??) as I did?
Grazie motlo. Maria.

Ciao Fran,
che bella la Sicilia! ti piacera' !!!!
Here the sentences for you:
-questo libro e' caro (This book is expensive)
-quella macchina e' vecchia (that car is old)
-queste lasagne sono buone (these lasagne are good)
-quelle ragazze sono italiane (those girls are Italians)
"To know" can be translated as "sapere" or "conoscere".
You will need to use "sapere" as "to know how to do something" , "to be able to" .Example:
-io so ballare (io know how to dance
You will use "conoscere" as "to make the acquaintance of" or "to know" as
-io conosco Sara e Federico (I know Sara and Federico)
-io non conosco Roma (I don't know Rome)
I hope this helps :)
Ciao
