In lesson 4.1 Calcio, 'Pratichi lo sport' Translates as: 'Do you play any sports'
In the quiz for the lesson, the question 'How would you ask "Do you play sports?"' Has the answer as: 'Pratichi sports?'
I know some Italians like to pluralize words as English speakers do as to not appear ignorant to how the English language works, but in the Italian language foreign words never change the ending to pluralize a word. Is this rule changing?
Lesson 4.1 'practichi sports?'

Hi Mariann,
I'm a bit confused.
Can you please write an example ?
In Italy we are using lots of English words like computer, call center, chat, etc,
When speaking in the plural version, we don't add the s as you would do in English.
I hope this helps.
Ciao

That answers my question. In lesson 4.1, The "correct" answer in the quiz was "Pratichi sports?", using the letter "s" to pluralize. But it is an error, and should have been "Pratichi lo sport?"
Thank you, Mariann

Hi Mariann,
Thank you for the post.
Actually there is a mistake in the quiz.
"Do you practise sports?" in Italian will be "pratichi degli sport?".
(literally translated as "do you play any sports?").
"Sport" is an English word which has been become part of the Italian dictionary since a long time.
In English you will need to add extra -s to get the plural form.
In Italian you won't need to do it.
Here some other examples of other words which stay the same in the plural form.
il film --> i film
lo sport --> gli sport
il tram --> i tram
il camion --> i camion
il bar --> i bar
il gol --> i gol
il cognac --> i cognac
I've already advised our Rocket Italian product team to amend the answer.
Ciao
