Forum Rocket Italian Italian Feedback and Comments listening to all conversations together

listening to all conversations together

A year and a half ago, i was able to listen in one go to all the conversations in each level. That is just the talking between the characters, without the stops and explanations that formed each lesson's audio file. Is this possible now - i don't see that review lesson at the end of each level. I have all 3 levels so between three audio files it would be over an hour of talking i think.

i see. that is not the unbroken big flow of just listening to the language, which is how i learn better. can you please make it available again, rocket languages?

german still has it by the way, in two of the three levels.

or you can give me the link to download the big files, so i can listen to them offline.

it's easier than d/l all the small ones and playing the in a row

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The "All Conversations" tracks are being phased out as we work our way through reviewing the course content. We're looking into a more interactive and useful way to see all the IAC conversations in one place, but it's still in the investigative stage so we don't have any plans for rolling this out just yet.

If you have any further questions or feedback, please don't hesitate to comment, or to contact our Customer Support team.

i have been a member for 11+ years, from when you were a small company out of nz, and have all the courses of all 11 languages except the 3rd mandarin one and the travelogues. I last bought 6+ years ago and haven't used much since….but for when i need to use it i would like some things to stay the same. Give the older members the option of keeping things the same as when they bought it - that is what is lifetime access, i thought. Or just send them what they used to have.

i just tried to ring your office, but there's no number. back in the day you used to have a phone number for the nz and the us offices, and i remember talking more than once to a margaret in nz, who was very warm and nice. i don't know it was you. Now it's just vague messages and an email form for replies.

so please send me the long conversation files for the 3 levels, they're useful to me. Thank you

Hi all

I may not be able to speak to someone on Rocket languages if I have a problem, but have found the Rocket team very supportive of all glitches I have had. Even though it is via email, my questions and even problems have been seen to in an efficient and awesome way.

I really like the way Rocket evolves especially at no extra cost. I find it exciting and am thrilled when things are upgraded, just takes my learning to a new level. Had just about finished level one Italian when new stuff was added. So back to those lessons I went. Got to revise and add new vocabulary, grammar and speaking to my repetoire.

Well done team Rocket

Sorry, it's a public thread but I just wanted to find how I could get those tracks - which i thought would give a quick answer as I didn't think they'd have been removed.

I use these courses as I would a book. I do play some phrases sometimes, and after a while in german 8 years ago, never the audio lessons as they are too slow and long for me. I like the full conversation track because I can listen to them as I would listen to people when I travel, and then read the language lessons for grammar and somtimes the survival kit things for what they have as well. So the other features back then and now were/are not things I use. I learnt spanish back to front just using the grammar lessons - which I also used to read and write arabic, and the same with korean.

All the things I don't use that are addeed are ok but I would like things to not be taken away because some people might have bought and kept the course for them. Or have been using them a lot if they were added later - so give them the option of keeping it in their account. Rocket languages cannot know which methods work best for me. It's reasonable to get those long tracks back for anyone who needs them - I just never downloaded them before. It's a pain to download all 60 or however many individual ones and play them.

It is always a mistake to take away the personal touch. That should never be sacrificed for anything. I remember Margaret taking care of everything on the phone - not language things obviously, but technical things like this. It is the warmth with which she did that, and the homey feel of the company (I was living in new zealand in the early years of rocket languages) that made learning something from a screen somewhat palatable.

Anyway, it's all good… I'm glad the setup works for you sebongela :)

So yes, I am wondering, but i doubt, if this margaret is THAT margaret. She would have just rather hung up than give a generic reply like that. But surprise me margaret, and bring me answers like you did back in the days :)

Hi sup110, yes it's me! I hope you are keeping safe and well. My apologies if my reply seemed too generic - I confess that I got some help from the Product Development team in answering your question.

I do understand that it's frustrating when courses change, and some features are removed. As you know, we have been around for some time now, and some of the course content definitely needed updating. Changes to the Interactive Audio courses made the old All Conversation tracks out-of-date. We do still have these old files, which we are more than happy to email to you (just contact the Customer Support team), but some of the content won't match the lessons anymore.

Part of the job of the Customer Support team is to advocate for customers when it comes to things like this, so it's definitely something we are keeping an eye on. The more feedback we have about it, the easier it will be for us to make it more of a priority.

I hope this helps a little. Please don't hesitate to conact us again if there is anything else we can help with.

hey margaret!! wow, it is you. I think it was you who once left my name in my profile as “squid word"because you got the joke, haha. I am doing well thanks, in a very sunny part of australia. I hope that you are also well. I'm sorry for sounding a bit harsh earlier.  Yes, it didn't sound like you earlier ;). I didn't think it was you also because it says you are a tutor - I didn't know you taught the languages, I thought that you were doing the other things at the office. Were you always doing the languages too?

I don't have much idea of the interactive audio courses or what else was there because I never used them that way! I just picked and chose the things I would use if it was a book and i was around travelling in that country and hearing the language spoken. So the reason I got all the languages is because of the portability. I could really learn the grammar when I wanted to just by reading it all. And anything i wanted from the survival kit section. Anywhere I was.

I will email the team and get them to send me those files - my email in the profile is old, I'll give them my new one. I just like hearing the language non-stop, I figure it out that way. Of course there are just things on youtube I could just listen to, but the audio tracks are quite slow and enunciated, and it sounded beautiful, as italian always does to me regardless of where I have heard it.

Oh, thanks for pointing out that my Profile says I'm a tutor (I'm definitely not!) I'll try to see if I can get that changed. I'm still part of the Customer Support team, although mostly in the background these days.

I hope things are going well in Australia. Would be great to have some of your sun today - we're alternating between snow and heavy rain at the moment.

I've gone ahead and added free trials for our 4 Travelogue courses to your account. These courses (for French, Spanish, and Italian) include options to listen to/download audio tracks only in the target language. I've also added Russian, however, we haven't yet added the Russian-only option to this course. Hopefully you will find them fun to listen to :)

If there's anything else I can help you with, please don't hesitate to either reply here, or email the Customer Support team asking for me - your message will be forwarded to my Inbox. All the best!

Oh thanks for the the travelogues! I noticed them when I logged in just now and i was sure they weren't there the other day. I checked out the italian one just now, sounds beautiful.

Yeah it says tutor under your photo next to your messages, maybe it doesn't show up for you but only for the others.

It's going well in brisbane here. We have 8 and a half hours of cloudless sky on average. One hour over that in summer and one hour under that now. We have had a few weeks of it being 25C plus during the day in the shade and even at 25 after sunset on some days. Kind of like an italian springtime ;). You have heavy rain and snow? Where are you all - Dunedin?? I thought the office was in hamilton or wellington for some reason. Alright, well stay warm and well. Thanks for everything :)

ps. It's christchurch! I hadnt seen the address at the bottom of the screen..

I have not been there, but it must be like southern UK, where I have been. :)

Yes, we're in Christchurch. No snow anymore, just a whole lot of rain, ha. It's a lovely part of the country, and within easy driving distance of some other great places so is a good one to add to your travel list (when we can all travel again, that is).

Hopefully you have already received the All Conversations files via email from my colleague Marie. If there's anything else I can help you with, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Take care, and all the best!
