How has Corvid-19 affected your studying?

How has the virus interfered with your japanese study, or made it easier?  I know I have more time (haven't worked in nine weeks) and have been using this time to work harder on grammar.  I've also passed two module tests.

How about you?

I think mine was more a convergence of being in Japan in March (no tourists left, it was great! :D) then having to self-quarantine after I got back because I was coming from Asia (then when I was due to return to work, NY went on lockdown), but I was very pleasantly surprised by how much Kanji I could read. So, now that I'm teleworking and don't have that commute time, I've bumped up my new Kanji to two a day. And since I've been running on a treadmill instead of outside, I use that hour to go through the Tobira Anki flashcards as well, where I get more Kanji and vocabulary input. I think my reading has really improved recently because of these additions to my study routine.

toru e,
I watch TV Japan, and I've noticed that I'm reading better, too, on the Japanese subtitles.   Also I'm hearing more of the new grammar points that I've learned.  Time is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

I probably shouldn't be reviving a topic that's been fallow for over a year, but Covid isolation is actually a factor that kicked my ass into gear and got me working on this in the first place.  I live alone, and my area has and continues to have restrictions on visiting other people.  I was out of work during the winter because non essentials were closed and our numbers were high.  Learning another language was always something that I had kind of wanted to do, but never actually started.  With the new year I and little/nothing else to do I decided to finally pull the trigger and start my work on the language journey.
