1.0 Greetings questions...

Konnichiwa, I know, it's only the first lesson and I have questions... but I'm really enjoying the program so far. Here are my questions- I notice the Romaji section shows the name first and the phrase second. In the English section it shows the phrase first and then the name second. e.g., "Sayaka san, konnichiwa!" (Romaji section) - "Hello, Sayaka!"(English section). Is there a reason for this? Can I say the greeting both ways e.g., "Sayaka san, konnichiwa!" or "Konnichiwa, Sayaka san!" Should I be doing anything with the Hiraganna and Katakana section at this point in my lessons? Arigato!

Kenny-san konnichiwa! Great to have you join the Rocket Japanese course. "Sayaka san, konnichiwa!" AND "Konnichiwa, Sayaka san!" are both correct. Just like you would say in English - "Hello Sayaka" or "Sayaka, Hello!" You can use them interchangeably. As for the Hiragana and katakana - you can begin to learn Hiragana in each lesson in Language and Culture section, under the tab "Writing". You will learn 5 Hiragana characters per lesson so it won't be too overwhelming. - Sayaka ;)
