"Stress Accent" in Module 1.4: Pronouncing Japanese

In the first Language & Culture Lesson, Japanese is introduced as having a “stress accent”. If I'm not mistaken, a stress accent is what English has… where the length/loudness of a syllable changes. Wouldn't it be better called a “pitch accent”, which is also what other resources call it?
